Brixworth Nursery Farm is an inspirational purpose built life skills & resource centre established in June 2007 to provide high quality day opportunities for adults with learning disabilities.
We are situated in the Northamptonshire countryside overlooking Pitsford Reservoir, just a short 15-minute drive from Northampton, Kettering & Wellingborough town centres.
Our purpose built centre is built from timber & other renewable resources, which makes it eco-friendly & gives it a ranch style feel. It is fully compliant with current disabled regulations. Inside, the centre has large & well-equipped multi purpose rooms, which are used for a variety of sessions. A large semi commercial training kitchen allows our customers to acquire new cooking skills.
Brixworth Nursery farm is set within 2 acres of grounds. As well as lawns in front of the centre there are two commercial polytunnels, an animal husbandry unit & extensive vegetable beds. In addition to offering horticulture & animal husbandry sessions the outdoor areas provide plenty of space for people to de-stress & enjoy the fresh air & sunshine.
Brixworth Nursery Farm can cater for up to 30 adults with learning disabilities each day.
Groups are small & person-centred & generally consist of between 3 & 5 clients to 1 staff member. Our friendly & enthusiastic staff are regularly appraised, trained & reviewed to assist them in being able to meet our clients needs.
Our aim is to help all of our clients to achieve their full potential in a relaxing, supportive & therapeutic environment.
Clients are funded in a number of ways. These include directly by Social Services, through their own ‘Direct Payments’ or increasingly by customers choosing to use part of their ‘ In Control’ Individual budget. We also have clients who are privately funded.
